DescriptionFantasia "Dance of the Hours" Production Cel with Painted Background (Walt Disney, 1940). As evening turns to night, the ballet-dancing animals all come together, including the improbable teaming of elephants and alligators! This is an original hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of one of Ben Ali Gator's alligators twirling one of Elephanchine's elephant ballet dancers, from the "Dance of the Hours" segment; find it at the 1:48:58 mark in the film. This fan favorite section was directed by T. Hee and Norm Ferguson. The cel is trimmed and has minor restoration. It is applied to a custom background for presentation purposes that nicely replicates what is on the screen. The two-character cel has an image area of 3". It's rare to see these characters in any form! Framed with glass to an overall size of 20" x 20", matted with an opening of 8.5" x 8.5". The frame is sold as-is. Cel setup is in Fine condition. From the Robert Forbes Collection.
