Description

Fantasia "Dance of the Hours" Mlle Upanova Production Cel and Courvoisier Background Setup (Walt Disney, 1940). Mlle Upanova and her herd of ballet dancing ostriches were the stars of the "Morning" segment of the four-part "Dance of the Hours" piece from this feature film. She stands 5.75" tall (but would be taller if she were "en pointe") in this hand-inked, hand-painted production cel that is trimmed and placed on a hand-painted Courvoisier background. Script under the image on the matting reads "Mlle Upanova" and there is an official WDP stamp in the bottom right of mat. The original Courvoisier paperwork is on the backside. Her full figure cel has slipped slightly in the matting and glass front frame. Minor professional paint restoration has been done on this cel. There is minor rippling in the cel, however the image remains in Fine condition.
