    Description

Falling Hare Original Model Sheet Drawing (Warner Brothers, 1943). This short went into production under the title Bugs Bunny and the Gremlin. At the same time Disney Studios was working on a film based on Roald Dahl's novel The Gremlins, and Walt asked other animation studios not to produce any films involving gremlins. Warner Brothers was too far into production on this cartoon to remove the references, so Leon Schlesinger merely re-titled it Falling Hare as a compromise. This is a one-of-a-kind hand-drawn model sheet of the Gremlin in this Bob Clampett-directed wartime classic. The images were rendered by animator Rev Chaney and bear his trademark "R" in the lower right. They are drawn in graphite and colored pencil and together measure approximately 11" x 7.5" on 12 field 2-peghole paper. Original art of this Iconic Clampett character is as rare and as desirable as it gets. The piece shows minor handling; otherwise, condition is Very Good. From the Rev Chaney Archives.
