Description

Falling Hare Bugs Bunny and Gremlin Height Comparison Model Drawing (Warner Brothers, 1943). The Gremlin from this Merry Melodies short directed by Bob Clampett is probably the most recognized and beloved character ever to have a single appearance in a Warner Cartoon. This was his only vintage theatrical role and he his one of very few who can claim to have bested Bugs Bunny. Here is an original height comparison model drawing of the Gremlin and Bugs drawn by animator Rev Chaney for this historic wartime era film and it bears his trademark "R" written beneath the characters. The 8" tall Bugs and the 1" tall Gremlin are tightly rendered in graphite and color pencil on 12 field 2-peghole paper. This is a one-of-a-kind piece that features a true one-hit-wonder from the mind of Bob Clampett. The paper exhibits light handling and toning. Condition is Very Good. From the Rev Chaney Archives.
