Eyvind Earle Sleeping Beauty Production Cels and Master Production Pan Setup (Walt Disney, 1959). A magnificent setup featuring hand-painted production cels of Briar Rose and the animals of the forest, including the Mock Prince. There are 13 forest animals (including the owl and squirrel in the Mock Prince costume) featured in this fun and lively setup that comes from the "Once Upon A Dream" Sequence. Briar Rose is a stunning 7" tall. The cels are trimmed to the outline and mounted to a clear pan cel, then placed on a gorgeous Eyvind Earle hand-painted Master production pan background of the forest where Briar Rose lived with the Fairies while she was hiding out. The background is trimmed to 11.5" x 25".
NOTE: This background was borrowed by the Walt Disney Studio for a six month traveling Animation Art Tour that was put on throughout Italy. It was featured in the tour book as a classic example of the "Art of Eyvind Earle".
It is a breathtaking setup of a key scene with brilliant colors. The background has no production numbers on it due to being trimmed; however it can be seen at the 32:54 mark ("When will I see you again?"). It is matted with an opening of 25" x 11" and comes with a Plexiglass front ready to be framed. In Fine condition.
