Eyvind Earle Sleeping Beauty Maleficent and Castle Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1959). "Now go with the curse and serve me well!", says Maleficent while on top of her castle as she transforms the sky into storms and has the castle covered in thorns. Eyvind Earle was the Color Stylist for this landmark animated feature film. This original background color key/concept painting shows his use and imagination of color. The sky has black clouds of smoke coming in and Maleficent is casting her spell to stop Prince Phillip and Samson. The castle is painted in dark yellowish palette to showcase the power of her curse. Gouache on board of 14" x 7". The art is signed in bottom right corner by Eyvind Earle (1916-2000). Great image of Maleficent on top of the castle with her scepter high over her head casting the spell, and the subtle black clouds rolling in are priceless! Matted and Plexiglas front framed to approximately 22" x 14". There are pinholes in corners, otherwise in Fine condition.
