Description
Eyvind Earle Sleeping Beauty Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1959). The signature trees and foliage in this scene are all pure design by Eyvind Earle (1916-2000). This is one of the largest concept/background color key paintings we have seen from the hand of Mr. Earle. It is a staggering 24" x 10", in gouache on board. The palette of colors is outstanding. It is simply an amazing concept art painting of Briar Rose sitting in the meadow, with a very abstract castle in the distance. Earle's signature trees are everywhere, and his actual signature is in the bottom right corner. A masterpiece of a painting, it is Plexiglas front framed to 33" x 19" (and 2" deep).
