Eric Goldberg – Elmer Fudd and Wile E. Coyote Gag Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 2000s). A Viking and a coyote walk into a bar... and hilarity is the result, in this very funny gag drawing by famed Disney and Warner Brothers animator, Eric Goldberg. Mr. Goldberg made his mark with Disney, where he was lead animator on the Genie in Aladdin, and on Phil in Hercules. For Warner Brothers, Eric was director of animation on Looney Tunes: Back in Action. Mr. Goldberg's work has garnered him three Annie Awards (in 1993, 2000, and 2010) and a Winsor McCay Award (2010). It's obvious he's been a lifelong fan of Chuck Jones, and he's channeled some of that Jones magic in this piece, with Elmer Fudd (in his What's Opera, Doc? Viking outfit) and Wile E. Coyote drinking and commiserating about their inability to catch a certain long-eared "wabbit" and a fast-as-lightning Road Runner (who both happen to be working as bartenders, with sly grins under their fake handlebar mustaches). Wow! The hand-signed art is in graphite with red pencil highlights on paper. The art is matted with a large opening of 16" x 12.25", and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 25" x 22" x 1". Fine condition.
