Down With Cats Production Background Art Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1943). Two original hand-painted backgrounds from the sixth Super Mouse (pre-Mighty Mouse) short, released on 10/7/43 during the height of WWII. Both are nice outdoor winter scenes with snowy landscapes. The first is noted as 4, and it can be found in online viewings at the 0:29 mark as Super Mouse stops a mortar shell with his teeth. The second piece is noted as 25-27, with a great image of a frozen pond complete with cat-tails growing nearby. Find it at the 3:31 mark, as a cat uses a magnet to catch a skating mouse. Both are painted with gouache/watercolor with airbrushed highlights on skimmed boards; each includes a Terrytoons stamp on the reverse. Very Good condition with minor handling wear.
