Donald Gets Drafted Donald Duck Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1942). This wartime theatrical short was the first of six cartoons featuring Donald in the Army, and introduced the song "The Army's Not the Army Anymore" written by Carl Barks. A fun fact, in this cartoon it is revealed on his "Order to Report for Induction" that Donald's middle name is Fauntleroy. Presented here is an original production cel of Private Donald in uniform with rifle from the 4:57 mark in this Jack King-directed theatrical short. The hand-inked hand-painted full-figure character is trimmed to the image and applied to a hand painted Courvoisier background that bears a WDP stamp in the lower left. The setup has been reframed, but the original Courvoisier paperwork has been preserved in a sleeve on back. The vintage production piece of one of Disney Studios most enduring stars from one of his few WWII era films is any animation collector's dream. The art shows minor handling and age. Condition is Very Good and frame is sold as-is.
