Donald Duck Annual Title Page and Story Illustrations Original Art Group of 5 (Walt Disney/Collins, c. 1950s). Wak! He's easily frustrated with a short temper, but that's OK - he's Donald Duck! He's also the star of this collection of original UK Annual artwork, produced exclusively for the British market. In this group of vividly painted 60+ year-old artwork, we have the opening title page, with a grand image of Donald as a one-man band, with a great hand-lettered title, noted as 5 (Donald's approximate image size is 4.5" x 5.75", board size 8.5" x 11.75"). The full title page to "Snow Joke for Donald" from the 1956 Donald Duck Annual includes an image of Daisy Duck and two of Donald, noted as 37 (image 10" x 13.75", board size 11.75" x 15"). A full-page illo of Donald flipping out over his in-pieces car, with a nephew, noted as 35 (image 8.25" x 11.25", board 9.75" x 12.75"); a sleeping, snoring Donald in bed with a nephew about to disturb him, noted as 23 (image 8" x 8.5", board 9.5" x 11.5"), and a great image of Donald arm-in-arm with Mickey Mouse, noted as Page 75 (image 5.5" x 5", board 7.5" x 8.25") rounds out the group. Art is painted in gouache and ink on illustration board. Art condition is Good to Very Good, with minor foxing in the "car" illo, and minor soiling on the opening title page; minor handling and edge wear overall.Auction Info
