Disneyland Printed Maps Group of 3 (Walt Disney, 1958). "Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world" said Walt Disney. This lot is a series of three original Sam McKin-designed Disneyland Fun Maps which were released in 1958. Three different versions were released, all very similar but with subtle differences in each. Referred to as the A version, B version, and C version, these maps measure 24" x 36" and bear a 1958 copyright notice. The A version features a Viewfinder in Tomorrowland with tracks running around what would eventually become Submarine Lagoon. The Junior Autotopia is also unique to this map. Another difference on the A version is that the Jungle Cruise river is green, whereas in the other two it's blue. The B and C maps feature the Matterhorn and the Monorail in Tomorrowland. Unique to the C map is the presence of Cascade Peak. These are just a few of the subtle differences in these highly collectible, orange border maps. You can see these in the book Maps of the Disney Parks by Kevin and Susan Neary, and Vanessa Hunt, on pages 28 and 29. Two of them are in frames measuring 31" x 46" and one frame that measures 32" x 47". These pieces show some minor handling wear and folds; otherwise, condition is Good.
