Description

Disneyland Park bench. (Disneyland, 1955) Among the earliest studio-created items to be delivered to the Disneyland site in Anaheim.  Even while the park was under construction, these turn-of-the-century style benches were placed throughout the park, well in advance of opening day on July 17, 1955. The cast iron pieces were fabricated in the machine shop at the Walt Disney Studio (the same shop where Walt Disney first created train parts for his Carolwood Pacific Railroad) and the benches were also assembled at the studio prior to delivery to Disneyland. The bench includes original oak wood slats and cast iron hardware and arm rests. Painted in early 2000 to match the original color. Measuring 96 x 30 x 19 in. Exhibiting a small amount of paint loss. Otherwise in fine condition.
