Disney In-Studio Gag Drawings by Jesse Marsh Group of 9 (Walt Disney, c. 1940s). Jesse Marsh (1907 - 1966) was famous for his work as the Tarzan comic book artist. His career began in the Story Department at Walt Disney Studios in 1939. He worked on Fantasia and Pinocchio and then went into World War II. He was injured in the war by a mortar shell. After he recuperated, he returned to Disney and was part of the second team that attempted to bring "Don Quixote" to the big screen. He left Disney in 1947. From his personal archives comes a set of nine in-studio gag drawings on trimmed/torn animation paper. Two are very "Walt Disney" pointed. They have him in conversation with a studio female employee in both. Graphite and Conte crayon. Paper torn, ripped and various sizes. Fair condition.
