Description
Dexter's Laboratory "Spacecase" Alien Communicator Master Background (Cartoon Network, 1996). "Now, let us see if this thing will work." Dexter's rooftop Alien Communicator is finally ready to be powered on in this original Master Background from the season 1 episode 11 segment "Spacecase" of his titular series Dexter's Laboratory. Created by Genndy Tartakovsky, Dexter's Lab was the first in Cartoon Network's line of original series known collectively as Cartoon Cartoons with the full series debuting in mid-1996. "Spacecase" is the first of three segments in the late season 1 episode, and opens to Dexter attempting to contact aliens from the roof of his house. He is surprisingly successful, and even convinces them to take Dee Dee back to their home planet finally ridding himself of his exasperating sibling. This phenomenal hand-painted background of the Alien Communicator can be spotted early in the episode near the 1:20 mark. It is rendered in gouache to an image area of 13" x 9.5" on background board with an overall size of 13.5" x 10.5" and bears the production codes #DX 96009 BG8 along the lower edge with a gold, numbered Cartoon Network seal in the bottom right corner; an accompanying CoA with matching number is included. With typical handling and edge wear including some faint surface scuffing/staining, overall this outstanding Master background is in Very Good to Fine condition.More information about Cartoon Network (non-Adult Swim) Artist.
