Davy Crockett/Fess Parker Related Group (Walt Disney, 1950s-60s). Fess Parker became an international sensation from his starring role in the Disneyland TV series five-episode serial, "Davy Crockett." The episodes proved so popular that they were later used for two theatrical films. From the personal collection of Disney's New York head of publicity, Bob Dorfman, comes this group of Fess Parker items, including signed letters, candid photos, and Mr. Parker's felt cowboy hat. The group includes a signed 9" x 6" photo of Fess in his coonskin cap, inscribed "To Spider, Best Wishes Fess Parker;" four typed letters from Fess to Bob Dorfman, all hand-signed (including a 1957 letter on Fess Parker stationery, two on Walt Disney Production stationery from '55, and a '57 letter on The Great Locomotive Chase letterhead); a 1964 handwritten letter on FEP stationery discussing a musical fret invention; three 8" x 10" photos (one with Jack Webb wearing a coonskin cap); and twelve 3" x 4" candid shots of Fess Parker. The cowboy hat was gifted by Mr. Parker to Mr. Dorfman, and includes a piece of tape with "Fess Parker" written inside. A small note written to Bob and his wife dated 11/7/57 signed by Fess is also included. Fine condition overall. From the Bob Dorfman Collection.
