    Winnie the Pooh Original Concept Art by Paul Wenzel (Walt Disney, c.1990s).
    Winnie the Pooh is the protagonist of the Winnie the Pooh franchise, introduced in Walt Disney's 1966 short Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree. He is the honey-loving teddy bear belonging to Christopher Robin. Pooh is based on the character of the same name from the book of the same name, written by A.A. Milne. In this lot we have a fantastic original piece of concept book art by Paul Wenzel. Paul is best known for creating illustrations for movie posters and retail merchandise for The Walt Disney Company. Wenzel first began at Disney in 1958, working for the studio for 42 years, creating thousands of illustrations for movies and consumer products. Wenzel worked on over 100 movie posters during his tenure as a designer/illustrator for the Motion Picture Advertising Department. This original concept piece was rendered using pastel on textured board. The artwork has a protective acetate covering. The image measures 6" x 6" on a 12" x 9" board and is signed by the artist. Fine condition.
