    Description

Who Framed Roger Rabbit Jessica Rabbit Original Concept Drawing Signed by David Russell (Disney/Amblin, c. 1986). "I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way." Here is a particularly rare find, a VERY early concept drawing of Jessica Rabbit, one of the first! Rendered in graphite on tracing paper by the hand of prominent storyboard/concept artist David Russell (and signed!), this provocative image is a must-have for fans of the buxom bombshell. An early rendition, this image features Jessica in a different dress, no gloves, and with a different hairstyle and face shape (while other features remain generally the same). This fantastic drawing is dated 5/86, and "‘Jessica', preliminary sketch for ‘Roger Rabbit'" is written in the lower right corner. The piece is preserved between two boards labeled "original ‘Jessica Rabbit' sketch". The drawing measures 7.75" x 11.5" on 9" x 12" tracing paper, and it shows handling and edge wear with the top corners cut and the lower left corner showing some cut-and-paste work. Additionally, the lower right corner shows pinholes. The paper shows toning due to age, and overall the condition is Good. From the David Russell Collection.
