Description
Who Found Roger Rabbit Pair of Concept Art by Thom Enriquez (Walt Disney/Amblin, c. 1980-90s). Worlds are colliding in this pair of original concept drawings for Who Found Roger Rabbit created by legendary story and concept artist Thom Enriquez! So many characters were considered to be incorporated into the film and many more were cut or planned to be included in the unmade prequel film. This lot features many of the non-Disney characters from Fleischer Studios, MGM, and Pat Sullivan Studio who could have made an appearance in the proposed prequel. Roger is all smiles in the first concept surrounded by Betty Boop, Pudgy, Flip the Frog, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Felix the Cat, Koko the Clown, Popeye, an early version of Porky Pig, and Bosko. The second includes Eugene the Jeep, Bimbo, and Bluto. Both are rendered in mixed media and are a testament to how far animation has evolved over the decades and a love letter to all the characters that defined the early decades of the medium. One page has been signed by the artist, and the work was created on 11'' x 8.5'' and 9'' x 5.5'' paper.
