    Description

We Are the Tunes Character Study Drawings Group of 14 (Warner Brothers, 1995). The song "We Are the World" was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie for United Support of Artists for Africa. It was recorded at A&M Studios on 1/28/85 and released on 3/7/85. It is one of the most important charity fundraising events ever done. To celebrate the ten-year anniversary of this song, Warner Brothers released a hand-painted limited edition cel called "We Are the Tunes." It featured 18 classic Looney Tunes characters reenacting the recording. The cel is placed over a picture of Quincy Jones conducting. Mr. Jones went onto sign the cel release as well. Here is a series of 14 character studies done for this Limited Edition cel, all drawn by longtime character design and story man, Dan Haskett. Each drawing is in graphite on 8.5" x 11" paper. The lot includes images of Marvin the Martian, Michigan J. Frog, Daffy Duck, Foghorn Leghorn, Sylvester the Cat, Tweety Bird, Porky Pig, Witch Hazel, Yosemite Sam, Pepe LePew, Lola Bunny, Tasmanian Devil, Wile E. Coyote, and Elmer Fudd. Development artwork for these high profile celebrity-signed limited edition cels done primarily for the Warner Brothers Studio Store are considered very rare. Please note this lot has fourteen Dan Haskett original drawings! Minor handling wear; overall, Very Good condition.
