Walt Peregoy Don Quixote Cel and Background Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1952). In the great book by Charles Solomon titled The Disney That Never Was, samples of Disney Studios' 1952 attempt at Don Quixote are shown with the words "The semi-abstract figures were used in this third version of Don Quixote. This style reflected the influence of a sophisticated New Yorker cartoonist, and played up to the style of one, Walt Peregoy." This is an abstract hand-painted background and cel of Don Quixote by Disney Legend Inductee Walt Peregoy. Both the cel and background are signed by the artist and dated '52. It's a stunning style and color study for this on-again, off-again Disney project. The piece is matted with an opening of 11" x 9", in an overall mat of 19" x 16". Some minor handling wear is evident; otherwise, condition is Very Good.
