    Tom Wood More Kittens Good Housekeeping Publicity Drawing (Walt Disney, 1936). The Silly Symphony short, Three Orphaned Kittens, was released in in 1935 and would go on to win the Academy Award for Best Cartoon Short. It was so popular a sequel was made, More Kittens in 1936. Presented here is an original publicity drawing of all three kittens Fluffy, Muffy, and Tuffy. From 1934 - 1940 Disney studio produced illustrated synopsis of Silly Symphonies that ran in Good Housekeeping magazine. The artwork was often by Disney publicity staff artist Tom Wood (1887- 1940). This is an original preliminary drawing by Mr. Wood for artwork that was published in a 1936 issue of Good Housekeeping. It can seen today reprinted on page 111 in th the 2005 book Mickey and the Gang: Classic Stories in Verse, by David Gerstien. The 6.5" x 7.5" image is rendered in graphite and red pencil on trimmed 12 field paper and is identical to how it appears in the final published color version. Tom wood artwork is revered for its exacting detail and composition and is practically a collectible unto itself. Any collector of his art would be proud to own this one-of-a-kind piece. Minor handling, edge wear and tape on back; otherwise condition is Very Good.
