DescriptionTim Burton The Black Cauldron Gurgi Concept Drawing (Walt Disney, 1985). While attending the California Institute of the Arts, Tim Burton created a short (Stalk of the Celery Monster) that caught the attention of the Disney Studios. One of his first projects after being hired by Disney was to work on concept art and character designs for this dark-fantasy animated feature film. Here is an early Tim Burton study of Gurgi, with his feet up in the air and giving what must be a true blood-curdling scream! Any and all Tim Burton art is rare and highly desirable, but something this lively is extra special! The art is in ink and watercolor or artist's markers on paper measuring 4.5" x 6.25", mounted to black board measuring 6.5" x 8.5". The Black Cauldron producer Joe Hale saved this rare gem, and added Burton's name along the lower right edge. The artwork is in Very Good condition, with minor handling wear.
