Tim Burton The Black Cauldron Gurgi Character Design Drawings Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1985). Outstanding pair of character design/concept artwork of Gurgi, from the hand of Tim Burton. Mr. Burton did some of his first work for Walt Disney Feature Animation as a character design artist for this film. Interesting preliminary sketch with a more finished piece of artwork next to it, in ink and watercolor. The preliminary ink sketch is on 3.5" x 4.5" paper, with an image size of 4". Mounted next to it is paper measuring 7.5" x 9" with a great ink and watercolor drawing of Gurgi measuring 7". Both pieces are mounted to black backing board measuring 9.5" x 15.5". Any and all original artwork from the hand of Mr. Burton is considered rare; these come from the personal collection of Joe Hale, who was the producer of this film. Minor handling wear. Very Good condition. From the Joe Hale Collection.
