Theme Park Concept Art by Marc Davis (1982). Marc Davis was one of Disney's Nine Old Men and a Disney Legend Inductee in 1989. He was a legend in both Walt Disney Studios Animation as well as in WED as an Imagineer for Theme Parks. He was once called "Walt's Secret Weapon." This is a rare theme part concept illustration from the hand of Marc Davis. He was hired by the Gary Goddard Entertainment Group to do a series of concept paintings for a proposed theme park in Valencia, California. Marc met Gary when he was a young WED employee at Walt Disney studios working alongside of Mr. Davis. The proposed attraction was "The Jumping Frogs of Calaveras County." Artwork is in ink and gouache on paper measuring 17" x 14" and mounted to board. Marc's notes read, "Suggestion for staging part of the crowd at the Dry Bend Jumping Contest." The artwork has a very "Country Bear Jamboree" feel to it. There are ten characters in this elaborate painting. Art is hand-signed by Marc Davis (1913 - 2000) in the bottom right corner. Minor handling. Fine condition.
