The Wonderful World of Oz Theme Park Concept Art Group of 7 (Landmark Entertainment, c. 1990s). A proposed Kansas based Theme Park inspired by the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz was given a $450,000 feasibility budget to study if this project could get off the ground. Los Angeles attorney Robert Kory first proposed the park for Kansas, and employed Landmark Entertainment to create a master plan for the 60 acre proposed Oz Park. It was set to have six sections, much like Disneyland. The sections were to be: "Old Kansas," "Munchkinland," "Yellow Brick Country," "The Wicked Witch's Haunted Forest," "Glinda's Northern Kingdom," and "The Emerald City." The history of this Kansas based theme park is legendary and the efforts to build it went on for years and years. This lot is a series of three original Landmark Entertainment original logo designs for "Old Kansas," "Glinda's Northern Kingdom," and "Emerald City" sections. Artwork is in graphite on paper mounted to board. Two of the logos are approximately 12" x 17, mounted to 34" x 24" boards. The "Emerald City" logo art is larger, on 21" x 29" paper. Also included are the matted oversized pitch final art photos for the sections of "The Northern Kingdom," "Munchkinland," "Old Kansas," "River Rapids at Wicked Witch Castle," and "Emerald City"; these are large matted pieces measuring 40" x 30". This is an interesting lot into what it takes to get a Theme Park approved and open, and a great look into the efforts of Landmark Entertainment. Three original art logo art pieces and five oversized pitch pieces, for a total of seven pieces from his highly-publicized failed Theme Park project. Minor handling and edge wear. Overall condition is Good.
