    The Smurfs Concept/Layout Drawings Group of 3 (Hanna-Barbera, 1981). This Emmy Award Winning series premiered on in 1981 and ran through 1989 with seven television specials associated with it. This is early design and layout artwork by longtime Hanna-Barbera character designer and layout man Alvaro Arce. It's an amazing pan layout drawing of the Smurf Village on pan animation paper measuring 10" x 30". Also in this lot is a very early layout /design drawing of Gargamel's Laboratory on 12 field animation paper. A third piece is lot is a design layout of two Smurfs. All three pieces are from the hand of Mr. Arce. Graphite with red and blue highlights. The Gargamel early lab design is signed by the artist. All show minor handling and edge wear and the village pan has been folded. Condition is Good. From the Alvaro Arce Collection.
