This sequel to the 1977 The Rescuers saw Bernard and Miss Bianca travel to the Australian outback and Bob Newhart and Eva Gabor reprised their roles. This was one of the first Disney feature films to be made digitally. Here is a rare lot of early development/character design pieces by Alvaro Arce. He was hired by Disney to be a Visual Designer for their Visual Development Department. First in this lot is his original graphite study of Miss Bianca measuring 5" and 6" in her Australian outback outfit, rendered in graphite and yellow pencil on 11" x 16" paper. The second piece is an early 5" tall design of Bianca in and ink/gouache on 10" x 12" paper. Tape is on full border with clear acetate over the artwork. The third piece is an original character study/model sheet of Bianca with seven images in graphite measuring 3" to 5" on 12" x 15" paper. This piece too is protected by acetate. Last piece is a layout/study of Bernard in Australia. Pen and ink/gouache on 12" x 15" paper under acetate. Two of the pieces are signed by the artist. Minor handling wear, edge wear, pinholes and border tape. Condition is Very Good. From the Alvaro Arce Collection.
