The Old Mill Owls and Lily Pond Preliminary Publicity Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). This Wilfred Jackson-directed Silly Symphony short was the first Disney film to use the Multiplane camera, and it also won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short for 1937. It was selected as #14 on Jerry Beck's book The 50 Greatest Cartoons, and in 2015, it was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry. Here's a rare drawing from this historic short, done for publicity purposes, with the mill silhouetted in the background. Art is in blue pencil on 12" x 10" paper, with an image area of 9.25" x 7.25". A light vertical fold crease, with old paper tape on the outer edges, plus minor handling wear. Good condition.
