The Island at the Top of the World Concept Art by Peter Ellenshaw (Walt Disney, 1974). This is a stunning concept painting from Walt Disney's feature film, The Island at the Top of the World. The painting was created by legendary filmmaker and artist, Peter Ellenshaw (1913 - 2007). The painting shows the Temple with distant volcanoes. Ellenshaw's career spanned more than seven decades, but his most extensive association was with the Walt Disney Studios beginning with their first completely live action feature film, Treasure Island (1950). At the 37th Annual Academy Awards, Ellenshaw took home the Oscar for his visual effects work on Mary Poppins. In 1993 he was inducted into Disney's hall of fame program as an official Disney Legend. Here is a rare opportunity to acquire one of Peter Ellenshaw's original concept paintings. The piece measures about 20" x 12", hand-signed by the artist and framed to 23" x 15". Frame sold as-is. Condition of the art is Very Good.
