    Description

The Home Front Private Snafu Studio Model Sheets and Character Concept Drawing Group of 3 (Warner Brothers, 1943). "Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home." Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) was a writer on this Frank Tashlin-directed short. In this lot are three items from the early development stage of this series produced by Warner Brothers in coordination with the U.S. Military to instruct and entertain the troops overseas during WWII. First is an original character concept drawing of the Technical Fairy who sets Private Snafu right on the work going on at home. It is loosely drawn in blue pencil and measures 6" x 4" on 12 field 2-peghole paper. With it are a pair of rare studio model sheets, one featuring assorted images of Private Snafu and the "Technical Fairy (First Class)" and the second of Snafu alone. Both are printed on 14" x 11" photographic paper. These are incredible relics from Leon Schlesinger Studios' wartime contribution. All three show minor handling and one of the model sheets has been folded in half. Condition is Very Good. From the Rev Chaney Archives.
