The Fox and the Hound Concept Painting by James Coleman (Walt Disney, 1981). The story has it that a young James Coleman entered a painting in a studio art show early in his career and when Disney artist Ken Anderson saw it, he encouraged James to take up background painting. Mr. Coleman went on to work at Walt Disney Studios for 22 years and contribute to 25 films before embarking on a very successful second career in Fine Art. This is a stunning original James Coleman painting on board. It is believed to be a concept background painting for The Fox and the Hound as he was the Color Stylist on that film. Framed with a mat opening of 6" x 9", in an overall frame of 14" x 17". The artwork is signed by the artist on the back of the painting. Condition is Fine.
