The Flintstones "Surfin' Fred" Layout Drawings Original Art Group of 4 by Richard Bickenbach (Hanna-Barbera, 1965). A trip to the beach with the Flintstones and the Rubbles during Spring Break brings out this kid in Fred, as he transforms himself into a dancing, surfing "ho-daddy" named Troy -- too bad he can't actually surf! Here's a group of original 12 field layout/concept drawings from the Season 5, Episode 26 "Surfin' Fred," which first aired on 3/12/65. The first drawing is Fred with his "stone board" as he strolls to the water with two young admirers; overall image size is 8" x 4.5". Next is Fred rushing toward the waves with his board; image size is 8" x 4.25". Betty and Barney walk and talk in the next drawing, with figure sizes of 4.5" and 3.5". Finally, we have a great image of the Flintstone's pet Dino and the Rubble's pet Hoppy, with figure sizes of 5" and 5.5" -- they look happy to see their "pet parents" return! Nice set of graphite drawings by animation legend Dick Bickenbach from this fan-favorite episode! In Very Good condition with minor handling wear.
