The Flintstones Concept Art for New Series by Willie Ito, Group of 6 (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1970s). After the Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show, H-B was trying to look for a new format to bring the Flintstones back. This is a series of six concept drawings utilizing the Flintstones in a new cartoon format. The artwork of the Flintstone and Rubble families was done by famed animator and character designer Willie Ito. The drawings are in graphite on 12 field animation paper. The set includes Willie Ito's Letter of Authenticity that explains this artwork's origin, which features an original Willie Ito color sketch of himself with Fred and Barney (these hand-drawn LOAs were done recently by Mr. Ito specially for Heritage Auctions, and are each a collector's item on their own). The Flintstones eventually re-launched on television with The Flintstone Comedy Show, The Flintstone Comedy Hour, Flintstone Kids, Flintstone Funnies, Flintstones Meet the Thing, Fred and Barney Meet the Shmoo, etc. Each of the six concept drawings is hand-signed by Willie Ito. Minor handling and edge wear. Very Good condition.
