The Delivery Boy Mickey Mouse Story Gag/Layout Drawing (Walt Disney, 1931). This is a rare story gag/layout drawing of Mickey with his mule and drum that has fallen off his delivery wagon. It's from the Bert Gillett-directed short, The Delivery Boy; it was released on 6/13/31 and starred Mickey and Minnie Mouse with Pluto. Mickey is delivering musical instruments, but stops when he hears Minnie singing "In the Shade of the Old Apple Tree." Mickey and Minnie then begin to play "Stars and Stripes Forever" on all the instruments. Detailed graphite on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper, with a great image of Mickey measuring 3". The black layout box line has been added around the figures. This rare concept piece is matted with an opening of 11.5" x 9" and a brass plaque that incorrectly notes the art as from Musical Farmer. Framed with glass for an overall size of 18" x 15.5". Frame is sold as-is. Art condition is Very Good.Auction Info
