DescriptionThe Black Cauldron Witches of Morva Concept Art by Mel Shaw (Walt Disney, 1985). Mel Shaw (1914 - 2012) was a Disney animator and design artist who worked on Bambi, and later on The Rescuers, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King plus others. He was named a Disney Legend in 2004. Here is his early concept artwork for the three Witches of Morva -- Orddu, Orwen, and Orgoch. They are shown here in a musical moment, playing instruments as frogs dance in the foreground. Art is in ink on paper measuring 11" x 8.5"; the witches figure sizes are 6", 5", and 5.5". The paper is mounted to a piece of dark gray board measuring 13" x 11". Tack holes, minor handling wear. Very Good condition.
