The Black Cauldron Character Development Concept Art by Marc Davis Group of 4 (Walt Disney, 1985). Eric Larson assembled a massive team of new artists for this Disney project. Disney veterans Milt Kahn and Marc Davis were brought in by producer Joe Hale to help the young artistic team with character development. Marc Davis (1913 - 2000) is a Disney Legend Inductee and one of Walt Disney's original "Nine Old Men." This is a series of four 16 field 3-peghole character development studies by Mr. Davis featuring Taran and Gurgi in two drawings, and Princess Eilonwy in the other two. These are wonderful drawings, especially the sheet with Eilonwy's many moods and expressions. Figure sizes for Taran as he struggles with a clinging Gurgi is 5.75" on the first page, on both drawings, and 7" on the page with a single image. The page with Princess Eilonwy standing has a figure size of 7.5" (paper has lightly toned), and images range from 1.75" to 4.75" on the page with multiple drawings. Very Good condition with minor handling wear.
