The Big Bad Wolf Concept Drawings by Ferdinand Horvath Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1933-34). Ferdinand Horvath began work at the Walt Disney studios in January 1933. In his first few months, he quickly became a jack of all trades, tackling layouts, animation, gag drawings, character design, book illustrations, and more. Some of the first superstars of the Studio were the Three Little Pigs. Their first short debuted on 5/27/33. The Big Bad Wolf was this short's main villain. He would also appear in 1933 in the Silly Symphony short Old King Cole and then have his own titled short The Big Bad Wolf in 1934. He's gone on to star in two more theatrical shorts after that -- The Three Little Wolves and The Practical Pig. The Big Bad Wolf in all his appearances was always putting on disguises: Little Bo Peep, a Mermaid, a delivery boy, Grandma, etc. This is a series of early character designs of the Big Bad Wolf attributed to the hand of Ferdinand Horvath. These are detailed graphite images on tan paper. Both pieces of concept/character development art are in one common Plexiglas-front frame measuring 25" x 12.5". Mat openings are 12" x 7" and 7" x 8". Five images of the Wolf, with sizes of 2" - 6". This is very early character design work. Frame is sold as-is. Minor handling and edge wear; artwork condition is Good
