Terminator 2: Judgment Day Opening Scene Concept Illustration Signed by David Russell (Carolco, 1991). "Three billion human lives ended on August 29, 1997. The survivors of the nuclear fire called the war Judgment Day. They lived only to face a new nightmare: the war against the machines." Presented is an incredible original concept illustration depicting the nightmarish opening sequence of James Cameron's high-octane action thriller Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger (reprising his role as the T-800), Terminator 2 is considered one of the best science fiction, action, and sequel films ever made. It is seen as a major influence on visual effects in films, helping usher in the transition from practical effects to reliance on computer-generated imagery. Drawn with a clear sense of the film's bold ambitions, this original concept drawing features a T-800 fighting through an elaborate war-torn landscape with significant atmospheric depth and detail. It is rendered in white charcoal/pastel on 18.25" x 9" black board. The piece is signed and dated 1/1991 by story artist David Russell, known for his work on Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, The Color Purple, and many more. It features production/scene notes, and shows minor handling and edge wear from normal studio use. The piece has a protective glassine paper overlay taped to the top edge, and the condition overall is Very Good.
