    Description

Spooks Thumbnail/Character Development Drawing by Ub Iwerks (Celebrity Pictures, 1932). Ub Iwerks (1901 - 1971) left Disney in 1930 and created his characters Flip the Frog and Willie Whopper. The opening titles for these cartoons read Produced and Drawn by Ub Iwerks. This is a pure piece of animation history: a series of Ub Iwerks hand-drawn original thumbnails/storyboards/character development artwork for the cartoon short Spooks, which was released on 7/25/32. You can see the Skeleton at the table yelling "Stop"/"Sit down" at the 1:37 mark. The skeleton dog appears at 2:43. This haunted house short is very reminiscent of Disney's Skeleton Dance, which Mr. Iwerks animated as well. Graphite on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. Minor handling and edge wear. In Very Good condition.
