Spider-Man Underoos Illustration by Alex Toth (Marvel/Fruit of the Loom, c. 1977-81). The Underoos line began in 1977 with just four licenses -- DC, Marvel, Hanna-Barbera and Archie. They were made and distributed by Fruit of the Loom. Their commercials featured children promoting the product along with animated segments of their characters. This is a rare one-of-a-kind Alex Toth character design piece of art done for a 1981 Underoos television commercial. Art is in ink on paper measuring 14" x 11" and is hand-signed by Alex Toth (1928 - 2006) in the upper left. His artwork from this commercial can be seen on page 321 in the coffee table book that highlights his work in the field of animation, Genius Animated: The Cartoon Art of Alex Toth. Four great images of Spidey on 14" x 11" paper. Minor handling. Fine condition.
