    Description

So Dear to My Heart Concept Art by Mary Blair (Walt Disney, 1949).
This film told the story of a young boy named Jeremiah and his pet lamb named Danny. Mary Blair did the art direction and color styling on this film along with John Hench and Dick Kelsey. In John Canemaker's book The Art and Flair of Mary Blair: An Appreciation, he writes, "Blair's sophisticated motifs recall the work of Grandma Moses. Her paintings for this film displayed all four seasons." This remarkable Mary Blair original showcases Tildy and the lamp Danny by the farmhouse with barn behind it. The stunning orange colors through this painting showcase fall, along with the haystacks on the right side. Circular concept art pattern on Crescent Illustration number 100 board of 12" x 10". The number 41 is written on top left corner. The colors on this painting are incredible! Pinholes in corners and minor handling, otherwise Very Good condition.
