Description

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Forest Animals at Dwarf's Window 8" x 6" Gouache and Ink Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1937). "Ho-hum, the tune is dumb, the words don't mean a thing. Isn't this a silly song for anyone to sing?" It's a party at the dwarf's cottage in this lot that offers an exceptional concept painting from Disney's memorable first feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Rendered in gouache and ink on a 10.5" x 8.25" board, this outstanding piece of production art grants us an endearing picture of the forest animals gathered to see the cheery party hosted by the dwarfs measuring 8" x 6", crafted to plan the scene to what we see at the 52:01 mark of the film, just before the start of the famous "Silly Song" music number. A covered signature can be seen on the bottom right corner of the piece, possibly of artist Ken Anderson. The board presents a small tear on the top margin, away from the art. Showcasing light handling and edge wear from production, the overall condition is Very Good.
