Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Evil Queen Concept Sketch by Joe Grant (Walt Disney, 1937). Joe Grant (1908 - 2005) is a Disney Legend Inductee. He began in 1933 and worked at the studio until 1949. He remarkably came back in 1989 and worked until the day he died, at age 97 in 2005. He is credited with the creation of the Evil Queen/Old Hag in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and also was the man behind the formation of the Disney Character Model Department. Almost every studio model sheet that came out of that department had a small "OK JG" on it. He also over saw the three-dimensional maquettes program as well. This is an incredible Joe Grant original concept sketch of the Evil Queen. Joe's art is in stunning graphite and pastel on 12 field 5-peghole animation sheet, with #2 in the top right corner. Back is stamped "Unit D." Amazing image, with a large size of 9". This is one of the single-most important characters that Joe Grant personally developed, and this is a piece of pure Disney history! Minor handling wear, pinholes in corners, with a clear sheet stapled over the pastel artwork. Very Good condition.
