Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Concept Drawing by Albert Hurter (Walt Disney, 1937). Albert Hurter (1883 - 1942) was considered to be the Walt Disney Studios' first real concept/inspirational artist. He worked at the studio from 1931 to 1942. In 1949, a book featuring 700 of his studio drawings was released by Ted Sears, titled He Drew as He Pleased. His time at the studio is covered in great detail in Didier Ghez's book Disney: They Drew as They Pleased - The Hidden Art of Disney's Golden Age: The 1930s. This is an outstanding early concept piece attributed to Albert Hurter of all Seven Dwarfs -- Doc, Bashful, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Sneezy, and Dopey. This is a great gag concept that has them on higher and higher stilts. Art is in graphite on 12 field animation paper; images are 3" to 4" each. This very early development artwork is matted with an opening of 11" x 8" and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 19" x 17". Frame is sold as-is; artwork has minor handling and edge wear, and is considered to be in Very Good condition.
