Sleeping Beauty Woodcutter's Cottage Concept/Color Key Painting by Eyvind Earle Original Art (Walt Disney, 1959). "And so for 16 long years, the whereabouts of the Princess remained a mystery. While deep in the forest, in a woodcutter's cottage, the Good Fairies carried out their well-laid plan. Living like mortals, they reared the child as their own and called her Briar Rose." This is when we first see the cottage where Briar Rose was taken as a baby, after Maleficent's curse. We see this image at the 13:30 mark into the film. An outstanding Eyvind Earle concept painting of the woodcutter's cottage. This is a large Color Key painting in gouache on board measuring 20" x 9". Earle's signature-style trees surround the cottage in this magnificent painting. The color blending of river, forest, sky, and cottage are incredible. A Disney Legend Inductee, Earle (1916-2000) has signed the painting in the bottom right corner. A simply stunning piece of artwork. Minor handling wear and tack holes in the corners. Very Good condition.
