    Description

    Sleeping Beauty Maleficent Concept/Color Key Painting Original Art by Eyvind Earle (Walt Disney, 1959). "Seize that creature!" says the King, right after Maleficent puts the spinning wheel curse upon the head of baby Princess Aurora. The guards go to seize her and Maleficent says, "Stand back you fools!" and disappears into green smoke. This dramatic scene sets the reason for Maleficent's disappearing until Aurora turns 16. Aurora has been living in the forest as Briar Rose, with the three fairies. This is an outstanding Color Key/concept painting from the hand of Mr. Eyvind Earle. The artwork is painted in gouache on board measuring 11" x 6". Earle, a Disney Legend Inductee, has signed this piece in the bottom right corner. A Key Scene in this movie! Minor handling wear and tack holes in the corners. Very Good condition.
