Shrek Early Character Development Art (DreamWorks, 2001). The animated blockbuster Shrek has quite a rich history behind it. Chris Farley was the studio's first choice to play the title character, and had, in fact, completed most of his voice-over work by his untimely passing. Many who heard Farley's Shrek agreed it was some of the rotund comedian's best work, but ultimately the story was rewritten for Farley's fellow Saturday Night Live actor Mike Myers. Here are a pair of great early Character Development drawings of the original Farley Shrek, done in graphite and red pencil on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper. The 7" images are full figure drawings that nicely fill each page. These pieces are extremely rare, some of the only hand-drawn artwork from this Academy Award-winning film we have seen come to market. Fine condition.
