Description

SeaWorld LARGE 40" x 23" Original Concept/Pitch Art for Roaring 20s-Themed Entertainment District by Eddie Martinez for Landmark Entertainment (LEG, c. 1980s). This rare piece of original concept/pitch art was created for Landmark Entertainment Group's Roaring 20s proposal for SeaWorld in the early 1980s. Rendered in gouache on 40" x 20" board by artist Eddie Martinez, the artwork vividly depicts a lively nightclub scene inspired by the glamour and energy of the Jazz Age. Signed by Martinez, the piece reflects Landmark's signature cinematic flair, with rich color and theatrical composition designed to capture the spirit of a bygone era. The Roaring 20s proposal was envisioned as a festival marketplace and entertainment district rather than a ride-based land. Concept sketches illustrated jazz-age architecture, speakeasy-style restaurants, vaudeville stages, and vintage midway amusements-immersive experiences intended to give SeaWorld a vibrant nighttime component beyond its marine shows. Developed while Harcourt Brace Jovanovich owned SeaWorld, the proposal sought to extend guest stays with dining, retail, and live entertainment reminiscent of Knott's Berry Farm's Roaring 20s area or Disney's Main Street, U.S.A. The project stands as one of Landmark's formative blue-sky designs, merging theatrical spectacle with placemaking. Presented in Very Good condition.
