    Description

Retta Scott Casey Bats Again Concept Art Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1954). Pair of very early concept/story development sketches for the 1954 sequel to "Casey at the Bat" (from Melody Time, 1948). Artist Retta Scott was sometimes referred to as "the female Fred Moore," and it shows in the stylized drawing of Casey's nine daughters, done in graphite on 12 field 5-peghole paper. Also included is a Conte or grease pencil sketch of a turn-of-the-century runabout, also on 12 field animation paper. The "Caseyettes" are about 7" high; the car 7.5". Both pieces have minor handling and edge wear, with slight corner creases, but are otherwise Fine condition. From the Retta Scott Archives.
